Government Contracting  | Registrations, Certifications, & Grant Writing

ISV provides full-service registration and certification services that streamline the onboarding of businesses and nonprofits into the federal sector.

There are several federal programs available for government contractors and nonprofits that require specific registrations or certifications. These programs include the System for Award Management (SAM), which is a mandatory registration for all contractor businesses and nonprofit grant recipients. Additionally, there are set-aside contract programs such as women and veteran-owned, 8(a) disadvantaged, and HUBZone. These programs, registrations, and certifications are subject to stringent regulations and can be intricate and time-consuming.

Our team of experts specializes in managing the entire process, handling the paperwork, navigating the bureaucracy, and staying up to date with federal regulations. This enables our clients to enter the federal sector with minimal effort, allowing them to focus on what truly matters – their business or nonprofit organization.

REGISTRATION & CAPABILITIES STATEMENT

System For Award Management

The System For Award Management (SAM) registration is mandatory for any entity seeking federal contracts or federal funds. This requirement applies to for-profit businesses, nonprofits, government contractors, government subcontractors, state governments, and local municipalities. The SAM registration remains valid for one year from the completion date and must be renewed prior to its expiration.

The primary reasons for obtaining a SAM registration include:

  • Your entity is a private sector business seeking to engage with the federal government; you’re seeking U.S. Government contracts.
  • Your entity is a nonprofit organization and requires an active SAM registration for its grant applications.
  • Your entity is being asked for a UEI number or CAGE code, from a U.S. Government department/agency; these numbers/codes are only issued upon successful completion of the SAM registration.
  • Your entity is a local or state government agency, school, or university that receives federal grant assistance.
  • Your entity is a subcontractor under a prime contractor and obligated to obtain a SAM registration.

Capabilities Statement

A capabilities statement showcases the essential information contracting officers and prime contractors seek about your business. ISV is adept in crafting tailored content that effectively communicates vital details about your firm to government procurement officers and prime contractors.

CERTIFICATION CATEGORIES

SBA SDVOSB/VOSB – Small Business Administration Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business/Veteran Owned Small Business

The U.S. Government designates 3% of the total contract dollars for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) concerns. Beyond that, these designations offer unique advantages including (but not limited to) access to resources provided by the Office of Veterans Business Development (OVBD), funding opportunities, and entrepreneurship training programs.

SBA WOSB – Small Business Administration Women-Owned Small Business

In order to foster greater equality and expand avenues for women entrepreneurs, the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside program was instituted. Out of the annual government contract budget of over $500 billion, 5% is specifically allocated to WOSBs. ISV offers WOSB set-aside registrations to assist women-owned clients in meeting the qualification criteria.

HUBZone – Historically Underutilized Business Zone

The Small Business Administration (SBA) created the Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program to support small businesses in economically distressed areas across the country. The government aims to allocate 3% of contracting dollars to businesses that are certified as HUBZone, promoting economic growth and opportunity in these areas.
